About Turvasiru

The Turvasiru.fi website is a service entity for the authorities and pet owners, organised in collaboration with AniMore, veterinarians, animal shelters and animal welfare associations. The Finnish Federation for Animal Welfare Associations (SEY) is also participating in the scheme.

Turvasiru.fi software is 100% made in Finland. By purchasing the Turvasiru activation code you are supporting animal welfare. Part of the revenue from the service is directly allocated to the Finnish Federation for Animal Welfare Associations.

Is the service always available?

Yes. The service is available online 24/7, every day of the year. The service is developed and maintained by AniMore.

Why would I insert a microchip into my pet?

With the help of the microchip, lost animal can find its way back home, bringing what may have started out being an exciting adventure for the pet to a happy conclusion. In order to do this however, it is vital to enter information about the microchipped pet into the Turvasiru system.

What is a Turvasiru microchip?

Any microchip can act as a security chip! A microchip is an identification chip, which is injected into the animal’s skin. The chip is equipped with a unique identification number. The Turvasiru service is an online register for all microchipped pets.

How much does it cost to sign up?

The registration fee for a microchipped pet is €20 / pet.

Can cats with tattoo IDs be entered onto the Turvasiru register?

Tattoo IDs cannot be entered onto the Turvasiru database. Only microchipped pets can be entered onto the system.

How can I remove a dead pet from the Turvasiru register?

You can log onto the Turvasiru service with your user ID and enter the pet's time of death. Your user ID will be stored in the Turvasiru service, enabling you to, for example, enter the information of a new pet with the same user ID.

How can I transfer a pet to a new owner?

Send the name, telephone number and e-mail address of the NEW OWNER to infoturvasiru.fi and indicate the chip number of the transferred pet. We will take care of transferring the information for you.

How can I register a new pet for the service?

You can purchase the activation code for signing up the pet in Turvasiru’s online shop. After receiving the activation code, select "USE ACTIVATION CODE" when logging in for the first time. If you already have a user ID and password, log onto the service and select "ADD AN ANIMAL".

How can I modify my personal information?

Your name is shown on the top left-hand corner after logging in. You can change your information by clicking on your name. You can also change your password here.

How can I change the default language of the service?

Log in and change the language in your user settings. The language you select will be used every time you log onto the service. You can change your settings by clicking on your name in the top left-hand corner.
